THE CONFLICT in Gaza and the Russia-Ukraine war, although occurring outside the ASEAN region, have significant potential to affect stability in the ASEAN region, including the surrounding region.

From a geopolitical and geostrategic perspective, it is crucial for Indonesia to analyze the impact. Indonesia views stability in the ASEAN region as very important for national security and welfare.

Disturbances or tensions in neighboring regions, such as the Middle East and Eastern Europe, could potentially spill over and disrupt stability in ASEAN.

Indonesia closely monitors conflict developments outside the region, and seeks to prevent their negative impact on regional security and stability.

In terms of geostrategy, Indonesia plays a very active role in maintaining stability in the ASEAN region.

As the country with the largest population in ASEAN and a strategic geographical position, Indonesia has an important role in facilitating dialog and diplomacy to address conflicts outside its region.

Indonesia’s geopolitics for regional peace

Indonesia’s geopolitical role in regional peace, both at the regional and international levels, is a key concern in the context of global political and security dynamics.

Factors such as its strategic geographical position, active involvement in regional organizations, role as a mediator in conflicts, independent foreign policy, and contribution to UN peace missions – all these confirm Indonesia’s role as an important stabilizing force in maintaining stability and peace in the region and the world at large.

Indonesia, thanks to its strategic geographical position, located at an important crossroads of global trade routes, is a key determinant in maritime security and stability in the Southeast Asian region and beyond.

As the world’s largest archipelago, Indonesia has a significant influence on regional dynamics.

Indonesia’s active participation in regional organizations, such as ASEAN, is an important cornerstone in promoting regional cooperation, peace and stability in Southeast Asia.

Through ASEAN, Indonesia works with neighboring countries to resolve conflicts. Then face challenges together, making it a major force in maintaining regional peace.

At the same time, Indonesia’s independent foreign policy plays an important role in maintaining regional peace.

By implementing a balanced policy, and not being tied to certain foreign interests, Indonesia is able to maintain good relations with all parties without getting caught up in ideological or geopolitical conflicts.

Thus, Indonesia’s contribution to UN peace missions affirms the country’s commitment to international peace.

Through participation in UN peace missions, Indonesia proves itself as a stabilizing force that plays a role in maintaining global peace.

So it is clear and firm that Indonesia’s geopolitical role in maintaining regional and world peace is very important.

Through various efforts and contributions that have been made, Indonesia has proven itself as a major player in promoting stability and peace in the region and the broader world.

Indonesia’s geopolitics play a key role

Indonesia’s geopolitics plays a key role in maintaining peace in ASEAN and the region, hence its impact on global peace.

As the world’s largest archipelago at the crossroads of two oceans, Indonesia has a very strategic geopolitical position.

Its geographical location also facilitates interaction with various countries and regions, both in Southeast Asia and globally, and this is a major factor in shaping Indonesia’s foreign policy. As well as being its geopolitical strategy.

As one of the founders of ASEAN, Indonesia has a central role in this regional organization. Through Indonesia’s active involvement in ASEAN diplomacy, it has become an important part of efforts to maintain stability in the Southeast Asian region.

Indonesia’s foreign policy is also independent, which allows the country to maintain harmonious relations with all parties – without getting caught up in conflicts or one-sided alliances.

This gives Indonesia flexibility in diplomacy and conflict mediation, and promotes balanced and equitable cooperation at the regional and global levels.

It is clear that regional peace, particularly that maintained by ASEAN, has a significant impact on global peace.

Stability in the Southeast Asian region, influenced by Indonesia’s geopolitical logic, can contribute to overall stability and peace in the world.

Indonesia’s geopolitical and geostrategic response to regional stability, especially in ASEAN, therefore raises a number of factors that must be considered.

In this context, Indonesia’s geographical position, regional political and security dynamics, and evolving global challenges become key points in evaluating the relevance and effectiveness of Indonesia’s response.

As the world’s largest archipelago, Indonesia has a strategic geographical position at the crossroads between the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

This condition gives Indonesia a significant geostrategic advantage, as well as being a key player in regional and global dynamics.

Indonesia’s presence on major trade routes also strengthens its role in maintaining regional stability, especially in ASEAN.

As one of the founders of ASEAN, Indonesia plays an important role in promoting regional cooperation, peace and stability in the Southeast Asian region.

Indonesia has consistently sought to facilitate dialog between ASEAN member states to resolve disputes and address common challenges.

In addition, Indonesia is also active in strengthening regional security mechanisms, such as cooperation in addressing cross-border security issues, terrorism, and transnational crime.

At the same time, Indonesia pursues a balanced and independent foreign policy, aimed at promoting peace, justice and national interests at the international level.

In the context of ASEAN, Indonesia seeks to strengthen regional cooperation while maintaining its sovereignty and political independence.

This approach helps Indonesia build strong relationships with countries in the ASEAN region, while maintaining its independence in determining foreign policy.

Indonesia is thus actively engaged in addressing a wide range of regional security challenges, including territorial conflicts, maritime piracy and terrorism.

Concrete steps have been taken in enhancing security cooperation with neighboring countries and other ASEAN partners, both through bilateral and multilateral dialogues.

These efforts aim to strengthen regional resilience against complex and dynamic security threats.

Indonesia often acts as a mediator in resolving conflicts between countries in the ASEAN region. Through careful diplomacy and mediation efforts, Indonesia seeks to facilitate dialogue between disputing parties and reach peaceful agreements.
